Beginner's Guide To Using A Sex Doll: Tips For Your First Few Weeks
Your first doll is either in the house already or due any day now. Unbox a 35 kg silicone human in your living space and there's a beat of slight panic as you stand there and think: now what? The answer to that question is what follows here. No filler and no assumption that you have any idea what you're doing, just the hands-on essentials you will genuinely need in week one plus the tips that will save you from costly missteps in the opening month. Go through it once before she arrives and once more after she's here, seeing as the repeat pass will make significantly more sense and you will notice things you glossed over the first time.

You will wish to do a few things before you so much as open the package, seeing as shifting her about gets much harder once she's out of it. Decide exactly where she's going to live, and "somewhere in the bedroom" does not count, so pick a specific place like a cupboard, a corner, or a carry case. The last thing you want is to be making up storage at 11 p.m. with an unclothed doll in your arms, as dolls are weighty and unwieldy. Dye transfer is a genuine risk, so prepare the space she'll rest on, which could be a bed, floor, or carry case, and verify it is clean and free of deep-coloured blankets, budget fabrics, and anything else that might bleed colour. If you have carpet, put something smooth under her. A low bed can droop under her load in time, so inspect that it will not.

Have your supplies to hand before she arrives:
1. Baby powder or cornstarch (for TPE dolls)
2. A hair dryer (for easing joints)
3. A clean, pale cloth (for the cloth check)
4. A coarse-toothed wig comb (not a standard hairbrush)
5. Drying sticks (for the orifice areas)
6. Mineral oil formulated for TPE (if applicable)
7. A soft make-up brush (for powdering)

None of this is costly, but all of it matters. For maybe about £20 you get the complete kit, and that is the distinction among a doll that stays in great condition and one that doesn't. Open the package with care as opposed to tearing into it, and if the package is damaged, image it before you open it, as that is your only cover for a return claim. Once it is open, carry out a quick inspection: examine for splits in the armpits and groin, inspect that all fingers are unbroken, and verify the head sculpt matches what you bought. Tell the seller before you do anything else if something's wrong, and picture it right away, seeing as a claim gets much harder once the doll has been used or repositioned.

Nearly every new buyer is taken by surprise by the next element: she will feel stiff. The joints are tight from the factory, which is entirely regular and does not mean something is broken. You should limber up the joints before you can pose her, and the technique is straightforward. Set a hair dryer to warm, not hot, and soften the TPE at every joint, then softly work each joint through its entire range of motion, covering the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. Never force anything, and if a joint will not move, warm it more. Set aside a complete hour for this. That seems like considerably, but it's the variation among a doll you'll in fact pose and a doll that ends up locked in a single position seeing as you gave up.

Everyone is caught out by how weighty she is compared with how she looks. Up to the point you lift her from a low position with the load concentrated in the wrong places, a 35 kg doll doesn't sound like much, so use correct lifting technique, squatting down and lifting with your legs as opposed to your back. Keep her close to your body by taking hold under the armpits and hugging her whenever you can, as the closer she is to your centre of mass, the less pressure you will feel. Anticipate her to be warmer than you'd think, since TPE and silicone both hold warmth reasonably well, and the first time you contact her attentively she'll feel less plastic than you were likely expecting. People say their dolls feel alive mainly as the fabric genuinely yields to feel in a manner that catches you off guard, not as of movement or AI.

Regular powdering is essential, as TPE gets clammy with time, especially in high temperatures or after cleansing, and a light layer of cornstarch or baby powder applied with a soft cosmetic brush maintains the exterior even and dust-free, so do it at the end of every cleansing session. TPE sheds oil with time and needs replenishment, so oil her now and then: a small amount of mineral oil designed specifically for TPE dolls every three months or so holds the material soft and prevents drying out, but go easy, as using too much oil makes the finish slippery and picks up gather dust faster than dehydrated skin does.

Think of cleaning as a procedure, not a one-off. After use:
1. Take out any inserts and wash them separately
2. Clean the openings with warm water and mild detergent
3. Dry everything attentively with drying sticks (between 15 and 20 minutes)
4. Powder the exterior with cornstarch or baby powder
5. Store her the right way

Do not treat this as optional, as if you skip it you will get mould building up inside her in a few weeks. The complete regime takes approximately 45 minutes, which is longer than most buyers expect, and it is the key reason experienced owners switch to detachable inserts, which cut that time just about in half.

This is where new owners make the worst mistake, seeing as they do not think about storage until it is a concern. Hanging is best, using a heavy-duty ceiling mount rated for at least 60 kg with a dedicated loop, which holds her in a single position without putting stress on the joints, and this is the method most long-term owners use. Storing her lying down works too, but be careful: even surfaces are fine and lumpy ones aren't, and leaving her on her back for long stretches can squash her buttocks or breasts, so vary the position periodically. Never leave her in bright sunlight, seeing as UV damages both TPE and silicone and fades wigs and coloured parts fast, so a wardrobe or a covered storage container is ideal.

The internet has a lot of opinions about owning a doll, most of which are incorrect or overblown. You needn't be "careful" in the sense of treating her like porcelain, seeing as yes, she's hefty and she has joints that need maintenance, but she's also designed to be used and she's not made of glass. You needn't be ashamed, as millions of folk own sex dolls, the market has expanded massively in the last ten years, and the shame has faded quickly, so if you've chosen to own one, that is a personal decision and not a flaw in character.

Treating her like a person isn't a requirement either. Building complex characters and personalities for their dolls is component of the appeal for many owners, which is great, but you do not have to, and a doll for sexual satisfaction and companionship without the roleplay is a totally valid way to use one. Get the everyday side right and the rest is a matter of taste, seeing as no one else gets a say on how you use something you own.

Every owner develops their own procedure, and mine for what that is worth is uncomplicated. Before each session, free up the joints, not for the entire hour of the first time but for just a short while to inspect that nothing is inflexible, and powder following every clean without fail. Verify the dye test on any fresh clothing even if you've used the same brand before, keep a second wig within reach as synthetic material takes longer to dry out than you'd expect and you do not wish to be waiting, and keep her sensibly every time. It is not fiddly, just the regime that keeps your doll in top condition for a long time as opposed to months.

The majority of what you have to know will come from your first month, and the slip-ups you make early tend to be inexpensive ones if you're careful. Issues that show up later are the pricey ones, and they virtually always stem from something skipped in the early weeks. A joint freed up too aggressively, a material tested on the doll as opposed to a cloth, a storage arrangement that looked okay until the load bedded into it. Go slowly at the beginning and the rest looks after itself.

You'll also need to know what to do when something eventually goes wrong, since it will. Maybe a tear in the armpit, a loose joint, or a dye mark that will not come out. Panicking and assuming the doll is wrecked is the instinct, but practically everything short of a broken frame is fixable if you deal with it early. Tiny rips are handled by TPE patch kits, which cost hardly anything. Tightening or replacing loose joints is possible. Dye marks are the one thing that does not come out, and that is why the fabric check makes such a difference. Find out which issues are fixable and stop worrying about the ones that aren't.

A doll is a major purchase that deserves respect, but "serious" does not mean "difficult." Skip easing the joints, regular powdering, and correct storage and you will be replacing her significantly sooner than you expected, but do them and you will get years out of her. Week one is the hardest element, and after that it becomes second nature.
