Unboxing Your Sex Doll? Use This Checklist To Protect Your Warranty
You can accidentally void your warranty without recognising it at the unboxing, which is also the most exciting part of acquiring a doll. Between a silky purchase and a stressful dispute, the difference can be a few minutes of care during delivery and inspection, and the checklist below is the exact process experienced buyers follow every time. In the excitement it's easy to skip, even though it's not complex, and skipping it is how customers end up with a damaged doll and no recourse.

Thirty Seconds of Photos Can Save Hundreds of Pounds
Inspect the box before you sign the delivery receipt. This single most vital step gets skipped by most people, who are eager and in a hurry. Before opening a box that's crushed, torn, dented or wet, photograph it from multiple angles. When you sign for the delivery, the shipping company's liability ends, and if the box was damaged and undocumented, they'll deny any claim you make later. Thirty seconds and a few photos can save you hundreds of pounds.

What a Signature Means
The point of no return comes with the signature. Any damage that wasn't documented at the time becomes your issue rather than the shipping company's once you sign, because you're accepting the delivery as received in great condition. Your right to claim is preserved if you refuse delivery or sign as "damaged", which you have the right to do when the box looks damaged. A courier who won't let you inspect the box before signing leaves you one protection: sign with a note saying "unchecked" or "signed without inspection".

Keep the Packaging Until the Inspection Is Done
You've got the box inside and documented any visible damage; now open it cautiously. Rather than tearing into the cardboard, use a knife or scissors along the tape, as a negligent opening can scratch or cut the doll inside. If something is wrong you may need the packaging to return the doll, so don't discard it until you've completed the inspection, and remove the doll slowly, checking as you go.

Check One: Tears in the Armpits, Groin and Neck
Tears in the armpits, groin and neck are the first thing to check for. The thinnest material is found in these regions, and they see the most damage during shipping. Check the armpits by lifting the arms gently, check the groin by moving the legs apart slowly, and check the neck by turning the head gently. Photographs of any tears should be taken right away, and the vendor contacted before you do anything else. While small tears can be repaired, an ignored or worsened tear can grow into a much larger difficulty.

Fingers One at a Time
After the first check, the second thing to check is the fingers. Confirm that every finger is intact, that the joints are moving smoothly, and that there are no evident breaks or tears in the material. Fingers damaged in transit are a common issue, particularly with wire-frame hands, and they're much easier to resolve when reported straight away. To confirm each joint moves freely, check each finger individually and bend it gently.

A Loose Bolt Is a Safety Issue
Next, the third thing to check, are the standing feet bolts, if your doll has them. The things to make sure of are that both bolts are present, secure, and not loose, and that they're not protruding through the sole of the foot. Worth reporting are both a missing bolt, a manufacturing defect, and a loose bolt, a safety issue. With the bolts present and secure, move on to the next check.

Compare the Head With Your Order Photos
Fourth, check the head sculpt. Compare the photos of the head you ordered with the head that arrived, and make sure they match. It sounds apparent, but head swaps are more typical than you'd think, and a mismatched head is a legitimate complaint. If anything doesn't match, photograph it and contact the retailer, after checking the face shape, the eye colour, the makeup, and the overall expression.

Stiff Is Normal, Grinding Is a Defect
Fifth, check the joints. Full range of motion for each joint is the test, and everything should move smoothly without grinding, squeaking or resistance. A fault is a joint that's grinding or feels like it's catching, while a joint that's stiff is ordinary. Report any complication you find, documented, before you use the doll; utilising a doll with a faulty joint can make the issue worse and may void your assurance.

Size Errors Can't Be Fixed Later
Check the body proportions sixth. Make sure what you ordered is what you got by measuring the doll against the advertised measurements for the waist, hips, bust, and height. A legitimate complaint is a doll that's the incorrect size, and manufacturing mistakes happen. It's especially important if you ordered a custom size, as there's no simple fix for a size slip-up once the doll has been used.

Minor Variation Is Normal
The seventh item on the list is the skin texture and finish. Look over the whole body to make sure the skin looks consistent, watching for uneven areas, discolouration, or visible seams. Though some small variation is usual, big patches of discolouration or evident seams are a flaw. Photograph anything that looks incorrect, and contact the seller if you're concerned.

Don't Skip the Small Stuff
The eighth check, a wig and eye inspection, is worth doing. Is the wig the colour and style you ordered? Are the eyes the correct colour and properly set? Make sure. Small as these details are, they're part of what you paid for, and a mismatch is a legitimate complaint. Compare the wig and eyes to the order confirmation, and photograph them plainly, before you contact the retailer.

Some Texture Is Normal
Next, the ninth check, is the overall feel of the doll. Feel for any lumps, hard spots or inconsistencies in the material by running your hands over the body. It's a flaw if a doll feels uneven or has hard patches, but some texture is typical. Smooth and consistent for silicone, pliable and supple without any hard spots for TPE: this is especially crucial for both kinds of doll.

Missing Accessories Are Common
Accessories and any extras that came with the order make up check number ten. Present and in decent condition: that's what everything should be if you ordered a spare wig, a storage bag, or a cleaning kit. Weeks later is too late; missing accessories are widespread and much easier to resolve if you report them straight away.

Keep the Box for Thirty Days
The eleventh check, the packaging itself, is regularly overlooked. At least thirty days is how long to keep the original box and any internal packaging, since most returns and warranty claims require it. If a doll is returned in different packaging, the retailer frequently refuses it; shipped back in original packaging, it's much more likely to arrive in decent condition. Label the box obviously with the date of arrival and store it somewhere dry, because you may need it.

Retailers Who Don't Resolve Issues
Where there are issues, document everything before you contact the seller. Write down exactly what you found and when you found it, photograph the damage, and keep the packaging. Contact the retailer immediately with a clear description of the issue and the photographs attached. Early reports with evidence get issues resolved quickly by most vendors, and the ones that don't are the ones you want to avoid in the future in any case.

Delay Makes Damage Harder to Prove
Don't sign for a crushed box and assume the doll is fine inside, because it ordinarily isn't. You'll need the packaging if you have to return the doll, so don't discard it until you've completed the inspection. Never use the doll before you've completed the inspection, since using a damaged doll can void the assurance. Don't delay reporting an issue, since the longer you wait, the harder it is to prove the damage was there from the start.

Written Records Beat Phone Calls
An assurance claim you believe is legitimate might be refused by the vendor, and it's worth knowing what to do then. Your unboxing documentation is your strongest asset in that scenario, and escalating cautiously is worth the effort. Contact the retailer in writing, not by phone, to have a record of what was said and when, and include all the photographs and a clear description of the flaw. A chargeback, requested from your card provider, is the next step if the retailer still refuses and the purchase was made with a credit card. Most card providers will side with the customer if there's clear evidence of a defect and a refusal to resolve it, but they need the evidence to be documented and timely.

Manufacturing Defects Are Covered
You might also ask what the assurance genuinely covers, because not all assurances are the same. Most assurances cover manufacturing defects like tears at the seams, joint failures and material defects, while damage caused by misuse, accidents, or normal wear and tear isn't covered. The difference between a fault and damage matters, because a claim that's obviously a fault gets honoured, and a claim that's plainly user mistake gets rejected. Before buying, read the assurance prudently rather than assuming that everything is covered just because the doll was pricey.

Your Purchase Safeguard
Taking about thirty minutes, the unboxing checklist is the single best protection for your purchase, and that's the bottom line. Delivery is the only moment when the retailer and the shipping company are both still liable, and the checklist records the doll's condition then. The most usual cause of customer disputes can be stayed away from if you take it seriously and do it properly.
